Syphilis is a sexually transmitted disease caused by Treponema pallidum infection, mainly through sexual contact, mother-to-child vertical transmission and blood transmission. Female Treponema pallidum antibody positive, generally indicates that has been infected with syphilis or previously infected with syphilis, after treatment formed antibodies. There are two kinds of syphilis antibodies, one is Treponema pallidum antibody such as TPPA, one is non-Treponema pallidum antibody such as RPR. Syphilis is usually diagnosed with both tests. If both TPPA and RPR are positive, the patient is identified as syphilis. After syphilis is diagnosed, penicillin treatment is required immediately.
