Is tuberculous pericarditis an infectious disease

Your health is my mission, your recovery is my joy.
Tuberculosis pericarditis is not an infectious disease.
Tuberculosis pericarditis is caused by infection of pericardium by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The focus is not communicated with the outside world. The pathogenic bacteria in the body cannot be discharged and will not infect others. Therefore, the disease is not an infectious disease. However, some patients may be complicated with pulmonary tuberculosis. At this time, the patient's respiratory secretions may carry Mycobacterium tuberculosis. When talking with others or eating together, cross infection may occur.
Patients can use isoniazid, rifampicin, streptomycin, ethambutol and other drugs for anti-tuberculosis treatment. If pericardial constriction occurs, pericardiectomy is required to prevent heart function from being affected.
