Restoring hope, restoring health.
ST segment of ECG reflects the process of ventricular repolarization. Mild changes in ST segment of ECG may be ST segment elevation, ST segment depression and ST segment prolongation, which represent different meanings.
1. ST segment elevation
ST segment elevation is usually caused by acute myocardial infarction, myocarditis, pericarditis and other diseases.
2. ST segment depression
ST segment depression may be caused by physiological factors, but also may be caused by coronary atherosclerotic heart disease, myocardial infarction, angina pectoris and other conditions.
3. ST segment prolongation
ST segment prolongation may be caused by hypocalcemia, coronary heart disease, long Q-T interval syndrome and other factors.
Patients with mild changes in ST segment of ECG need to quit smoking and alcohol, reasonable diet, appropriate exercise and regular work and rest in their daily life.
