What's going on when kids wake up crying?

There are two types of crying: physical crying, an instinctive response to the baby's emotions and needs, possibly caused by hunger, cold or shock; and pathological distress, which should be taken seriously. Any disease that causes pain and discomfort in the baby can make the baby cry. Common causes include fever, eczema, rickets, oral herpes, tapeworm infection, and intussusception. When the baby shows unexplained crying at night, parents should first start with physiological reasons, and then consider pathological factors, if necessary, take the baby to the hospital to find a doctor for further diagnosis and treatment.
