Three peak periods of cerebral edema

The first peak of brain edema occurs within 24 hours of brain edema, the second peak occurs within 48 hours of brain edema, and the third peak occurs three to seven days after onset. Symptoms of nausea, vomiting, confusion, and lethargy may occur.
