What does breast exam 4a mean?

Restoring balance, one patient at a time.
Mammography 4a: Mammography (e.g. mammography, breast ultrasound, etc.) An assessment classification of breast lesions. 4a suggests that the breast lesion has a certain malignant possibility, but relatively low. This classification is based on the rough judgment of imaging characteristics, and is intended to attract attention and guide further examination and treatment. Although rated 4a, the probability of malignancy is usually around 2% to 10%. However, this probability alone cannot be relied upon to determine the nature of the lesion, and other factors need to be evaluated. More definitive tests such as biopsy are generally required to determine the specific nature of the lesion. Biopsy is the gold standard for diagnosis. Even if the 4a assessment is the same, the actual condition may vary from individual to individual. Factors such as age, family history, and clinical presentation may affect the nature of the lesion. Close observation is also necessary while awaiting further examination results, or in cases where immediate biopsy is not appropriate. This includes periodic follow-up imaging to see if the lesion has changed. Breast examination 4a is a cautious situation, patients should actively communicate with the doctor, follow the doctor's recommendations for further examination and treatment, to clarify the nature of the lesion and take appropriate treatment measures.
