Causes of endometrial polyps

Endometrial polyps are caused by a combination of endocrine disorders, inflammatory stimuli, gene mutations, and other factors.

1. Endocrine disorders,

high estrogen levels are one of the main causes of endometrial polyps. In addition, insufficient progesterone levels, elevated prolactin levels, etc. may also lead to endometrial polyps.

2. Inflammatory stimuli

Long-term inflammatory stimuli can lead to local hyperplasia of the endometrium and the formation of polyps.

3. Gene mutations

exist in some patients with endometrial polyps, such as CTNNB1, ESR1, etc. In

addition, age, obesity, hypertension, diabetes and other factors may also increase the risk of endometrial polyps.
