At birth, the female ovary is less than 0.7cm3 in size; small follicles can be observed about half a year after birth. At the age of 7-9, follicles increase and the ovary gradually increases in size to about 2.5- 3cm3. After puberty, the ovary is 1.8-5.7cm3 in size.
