Treatment of lupus nephrotic syndrome

Empathy in care, excellence in medicine.
Lupus nephritis is characterized by nephrotic syndrome. Treatment requires corticosteroids, immunosuppressants or cytotoxic drugs, and if necessary, hormone pulse therapy. Hypertension
and hyperlipidemia need to be strictly controlled to prevent other complications of chronic kidney disease, such as correcting anemia and improving calcium and phosphorus metabolism. The dosage and type of immunosuppressants and corticosteroids need to be determined according to the patient's clinical symptoms, serological tests, and pathological results. The most commonly used immunosuppressants are cyclophosphamide and azathioprine.
In recent years, some new immunosuppressants, such as mycophenolate mofetil, leflunomide, and tacrolimus, can also be used in the treatment of lupus nephritis.
