Staging criteria and treatment of cervical cancer

Cervical cancer is classified according to the International Union of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Stage I cervical cancer is limited to the cervix. Stage II cervical cancer can be operated directly. If the patient is younger and has not completed fertility, stage 1A1 can be operated to preserve fertility. For stage III cervical cancer, the tumor invades the pelvic wall, invades the rectum, bladder and ureter, invades the vaginal wall can reach the lower 1/3. For stage III cervical cancer, the tumor invades the pelvic wall, invades the rectum, bladder and ureter, and invades the vaginal wall can reach the lower 1/3. Stage IV cervical cancer, in which the tumor extends beyond the pelvis, invades surrounding tissues, or shows distant metastases, can be treated directly with chemotherapy or with targeted drugs.
