At present, hypertension is divided into 1~3 grades according to the level of blood pressure increase. Grade 1 hypertension refers to systolic blood pressure 140~159 mmHg or diastolic blood pressure 90~99 mmHg; Grade 2 hypertension refers to systolic blood pressure 160~179 mmHg or diastolic blood pressure 100~109 mmHg; Grade 3 hypertension refers to systolic blood pressure ≥180 mmHg or diastolic blood pressure ≥110 mmHg. In addition, hypertension was classified into low risk, moderate risk, high risk and very high risk according to whether it was associated with other cardiovascular risk factors, target organ damage and comorbidities or diabetes mellitus.
