Chondroma of the finger is the most common type of chondroma. The age of onset is usually between 30 and 40 years old. Patients usually come to see the doctor without special symptoms or show painless swelling. If there is pathological fracture, they may show pain. The tumor is often found unintentionally on x-ray. Chondroma of the finger is typically a localized, well-defined oval transparent shadow. It is often central, with local cortical thinning, a thin layer of hyperplasia and sclerosis around the tumor, and scattered sand-like dense spots in the shadow.
