Herpes treatment with what medicine

Building a healthier future, together.
Herpes zoster is usually treated with antiviral drugs. This is because herpes zoster is caused by varicella zoster virus infection, so it should be actively treated with antiviral drugs at the early stage of the disease. Commonly used are acyclovir, ganciclovir, famciclovir, etc. These antiviral drugs are injectable, oral, and topical cream preparations. For patients with severe pain, tricyclic antidepressants, amitriptyline, or gabapentin, pregabalin, etc. may be selected for pain relief. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as diclofenac sodium may also be selected as appropriate. For patients with rapid onset and severe pain, rapid glucocorticoid shock therapy may be appropriately used to shorten the course of treatment. When skin lesions are ruptured, calamine lotion may be applied externally to dry and converge. After ulceration, boric acid solution wet compress and mupirocin cream may be applied externally to fight infection.
