Ficat staging of femoral head necrosis

Ficat stages of femoral head necrosis are: No pain symptoms in stage 0, normal plain film, but abnormal magnetic resonance imaging examination; pain sensation in stage I, normal plain film examination, abnormal magnetic resonance examination; pain symptoms in stage II, cystic lesions in plain film examination, no subchondral fracture; collapse of femoral head in stage III plain film examination, crescent sign in magnetic resonance examination; acetabulum lesions in plain film examination, joint space stenosis and inflammatory reaction in stage IV. Patients diagnosed with osteonecrosis of the femoral head need early treatment to improve prognosis.
