What disease is esophageal vein exposure?

Restoring health, restoring hope.
Esophageal vein exposure may be caused by liver cirrhosis, portal hypertension, esophageal cancer and other diseases. Details are as follows:
1. Liver cirrhosis
When chronic diseases or injuries occur in the liver, blood flow is blocked, leading to portal hypertension. In order to bypass portal vein obstruction, other venous systems in the body begin to dilate, including veins on the esophageal wall, so that they are exposed.
2. Portal hypertension
When portal hypertension occurs, venous return may be blocked, and esophageal veins may be exposed.
3. Esophageal
cancer is a malignant tumor that occurs in the esophagus. As the tumor gradually increases in size, it may compress the surrounding veins, leading to venous dilation, thus causing esophageal vein exposure.
