Hemoglobin
is an iron-containing protein in red blood cells that transports oxygen from the lungs to various tissues of the body and carbon dioxide from tissues to the lungs. When hemoglobin is low, the body may develop symptoms of anemia. In general, if the patient has mild anemia, that is, hemoglobin concentration ≥90g/L, but less than normal, gastroscopy is usually performed without obvious discomfort. However, if the patient belongs to moderate to severe anemia, or accompanied by obvious cardiopulmonary insufficiency, gastroscopy is usually not allowed. It is recommended to correct anemia and improve cardiopulmonary function in time.
