Where is the gallbladder located on the body?

Dedicated to your healing journey.
The gallbladder is located in the right upper abdomen of the human body. It is usually divided into four parts: gallbladder base, gallbladder neck, gallbladder body and cystic duct. The
gallbladder is an important digestive organ of the human body. It can concentrate and store bile and buffer the pressure of bile duct. The specific location of the gallbladder can be described by two ways: body surface positioning point and physiological structure position. The body surface positioning point is the intersection of the outer edge and inner edge of the right rectus abdominis muscle, i.e., the intersection of the right rib below and the rectus abdominis muscle. The physiological structure position in the body is below the liver. The liver is the upper part of the gallbladder, and the biliary system is the downstream of the gallbladder.
The gallbladder is a small pear-shaped organ, and its size varies according to individual differences. The gallbladder can store bile and concentrate it. When the human body eats, bile is released from the gallbladder to the small intestine to help break down fat in the food.
