What's wrong with the gallbladder?

Gallbladder enlargement may be caused by cholecystitis, gallstones, gallbladder tumor and other diseases.

1. Cholecystitis

Common causes of cholecystitis include bacterial infection, cholestasis, etc. Due to inflammatory stimulation, patients will lead to gallbladder wall thickening and gallbladder dilatation, which can be manifested as gallbladder enlargement.

2. Gallstones

Gallstones are solid substances formed in the gallbladder. The presence of stones may lead to gallbladder obstruction and bile cannot be discharged normally, resulting in gallbladder dilatation.

3. Gallbladder tumor

Gallbladder tumor belongs to space-occupying lesions. As the tumor volume gradually increases, it will cause gallbladder dilatation and gallbladder enlargement.
