Cervical thickening refers to the thickness of the cervix beyond the normal range, mainly related to chronic cervicitis, cervical gland cyst, cervical myoma, physiological factors, etc.
1. Chronic cervicitis
long-term inflammatory stimulation can make cervical tissue hyperplasia, hypertrophy, leading to cervical thickening. For example, pathogens such as bacteria, mycoplasma, chlamydia and other infections of the cervix, causing chronic inflammation, inflammation can gradually cause cervical morphological changes.
2. Cervical gland cyst
cervical gland orifice obstruction, resulting in blocked drainage of gland secretions, retention of cysts, may also be manifested as cervical thickening.
3. Cervical fibroids When uterine
fibroids occur in the cervix, they can make the cervix locally thickened and deformed. Cervical fibroids can gradually increase and exert pressure on surrounding tissues.
4. Physiological factors
In some special physiological periods, such as pregnancy, hormone levels may cause a certain degree of thickening of the cervix, which usually returns to normal after childbirth.
5. Other
parts of early cervical cancer may also be characterized by cervical thickening, but often accompanied by other symptoms, such as contact bleeding, abnormal vaginal discharge, etc.
