Is S-1 a targeted drug?

Your health, my dedication.
S-1 is not a targeted drug.
Targeted drugs mainly target specific targets on tumor cells, such as certain receptors, kinases, etc., to block growth signals or promote apoptosis of tumor cells. S-1 mainly plays an anti-tumor role by interfering with nucleic acid metabolism of tumor cells and inhibiting DNA synthesis.
Moreover, targeted drugs are usually targeted at tumors with specific gene mutations or abnormal expression. S-1 can be used for the treatment of a variety of solid tumors, such as gastric cancer and colorectal cancer. Its application is relatively more extensive, but it is not based on specific target-specific therapy.
There are obvious differences between S-1 and targeted drugs in drug nature, mechanism of action, scope of application, etc. In clinical application, it is necessary to select and use drugs reasonably according to the specific conditions of patients and tumor characteristics.
