The pH value of gastric acid in gastric emptying state is 7.0~7.2, which belongs to normal condition. In eating state, the pH value of gastric acid is between 2~3.

Clinically, if the acid is too high, it can be seen in duodenal ulcer, pyloric obstruction, chronic cholecystitis and other diseases; the acid decrease can be seen in chronic gastritis, atrophic gastritis, gastric ulcer, Zhuo-Ai syndrome, pernicious anemia, gastric dilatation, hyperthyroidism, gastric cancer and other diseases.

If the patient's acid is abnormal, it is necessary to collect gastric juice for detection. It should be noted that drugs affecting gastric acid, such as cimetidine tablets, omeprazole capsules, sodium bicarbonate tablets, etc., should be discontinued 3 days before gastric juice collection.
