The difference between aureomycin eye ointment and erythromycin eye ointment

Chlortetracycline eye ointment and erythromycin eye ointment are different in composition, scope of application and contraindications, as follows:

1. Composition: Chlortetracycline hydrochloride is the main component of chlortetracycline eye ointment, while erythromycin eye ointment is erythromycin.

2. Scope of application: Chlortetracycline eye ointment is generally used to control Gram-positive bacteria, atypical tuberculosis, rickettsia, Streptococcus pneumoniae and other pathogen infection types; erythromycin eye ointment is generally used to treat Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria, amoeba and other pathogenic microbial infection caused by eye diseases.

3. Contraindications: Chlortetracycline eye ointment should not be used for those allergic to chlortetracycline and tetracycline drugs. Erythromycin eye ointment should not be used for those allergic to erythromycin or other macrolides.
