What are the treatments for strabismus?

Strabismus can take general treatment, drug treatment and surgical treatment.

1, general treatment of

mild strabismus patients can be recommended by the doctor, at home for self-correction training, such as a pen in front of 40cm, and then gradually moved to the front, during which keep both eyes fixed on the tip, in order to exercise the eye muscles.

2, drug treatment of

some patients can be prescribed to use atropine, tropicamide or compound tropicamide eye drops for mydriasis, in order to alleviate refractive accommodation caused by esotropia.

3, surgical treatment

When strabismus symptoms are more obvious, patients can choose surgery to adjust the extraocular muscles, in order to change its traction force on the eyeball, so as to achieve the purpose of correction.
