Does wearing an eye patch hurt your eyes?

Wearing eye masks correctly generally does not cause eye damage, but if you wear them improperly, it may cause eye pressure, induce allergic reactions or increase the risk of infection.

1. Eye pressure

If you wear too tight eye masks, it may cause eye pressure, resulting in increased intraocular pressure, resulting in discomfort.

2. Induced allergic reactions

If the quality of eye masks is relatively poor, it may induce allergic reactions, resulting in eye redness, itching and other discomfort symptoms.

3. Increased risk of infection

If the eye mask is not clean, or sharing eye masks with others, it may increase the risk of eye infection.
