What should I pay attention to before checking Helicobacter pylori?

The test for Helicobacter pylori generally refers to the detection of Helicobacter pylori. Before the test, patients should pay attention to the screening of relative contraindications, keep fasting, stop taking related drugs, etc.
1. Screening of relative contraindications There is
no absolute contraindication for Helicobacter pylori test, but patients with acute upper gastrointestinal bleeding and gastric resection history should not undergo this test to prevent affecting the test results.
2. Keeping fasting and
satiety may lead to uneven contact between the test reagent and the stomach wall, thus affecting the test results. Therefore, the subject should fast for more than 6 hours before doing Helicobacter pylori test.
3. Stop taking related drugs The
subject should stop taking antibiotics at least four weeks before the test, and stop taking proton pump inhibitors at least two weeks before the test to prevent false positive results and affect the judgment of the disease.
