Follicles usually take 10-14 days to mature and rupture.
Follicle maturation and rupture is a cyclical change in ovarian reproductive function, which requires four stages: primordial follicle, preantral follicle, antral follicle and preovulatory follicle. From the 5th-7th day of the menstrual cycle, dominant follicles can appear at ovulation, when the follicle diameter is about 18 mm. After the dominant follicle is formed, it takes about 14-16 days to rupture and release eggs.
Women in pregnancy can use ovulation test paper or B-ultrasound to monitor ovulation, and moderately increase the frequency of coitus during ovulation to improve the chances of pregnancy.
