Hepatitis E is transmitted through fecal-oral transmission, blood transmission, and mother-to-child transmission.
1. Fecal-oral transmission Hepatitis
E patients may cause widespread infection after fecal excretion of the virus contaminated drinking water. Eating unclean food or drinks may also cause hepatitis E.
2. Blood transmission Infected
with blood products or blood contaminated with hepatitis E virus may also be infected with hepatitis E, but the probability is small.
3. Mother-to-child transmission
Pregnant women with hepatitis E may transmit the disease to the fetus through the placenta.
