Felodipine belongs to what kind of antihypertensive drugs

Dedicated to healing, always.
Felodipine is a calcium channel blocker.
Felodipine is a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker. It can reduce blood pressure by blocking calcium ion channels on myocardial and vascular smooth muscle cells, inhibiting extracellular calcium ion influx, promoting vascular smooth muscle relaxation and reducing resistance. At the same time, nifedipine can also reduce peripheral resistance, thus reducing cardiac afterload. However, nifedipine and other calcium channel blockers are prone to adverse reactions such as flushing, rapid heartbeat, headache, etc. after use, most of which will gradually disappear after prolonged use. For patients with discomfort symptoms after using felodipine, it is recommended to seek medical attention promptly and follow the prescribed medication.
