Homocysteine is a sulfur-containing amino acid, an intermediate product of cysteine and methionine metabolism. It is an indicator of blood test. The normal range is 5-15μmol/L. If homocysteine 15μmol/L, it may be caused by folic acid deficiency, H-type hypertension, coronary atherosclerotic heart disease, acute myocardial infarction, etc. Further trace element examination, blood pressure measurement, coronary angiography, myocardial necrosis markers, etc. are needed to confirm the diagnosis.
