How to diagnose hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy

Healing with compassion, caring with purpose.
Hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy can generally be diagnosed by echocardiography, cardiac magnetic resonance imaging, and endomyocardial biopsy.
1. Echocardiogram
patients can be examined by echocardiography. If there is asymmetric ventricular hypertrophy but no ventricular enlargement and hypertension, valvular disease, etc. are excluded, hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy can be initially diagnosed.
2. Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging. Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging
can detect localized or generalized thickening of the ventricular wall. Isotope delayed enhancement scanning can also see myocardial patchy enhancement.
3. Endomyocardial biopsy
can identify invasive cardiomyopathy by endomyocardial biopsy, which helps to exclude amyloidosis and glycogen storage.
