What is Down's screening primarily for?

Down screening can help determine if the fetus has neural tube abnormalities and trisomy syndrome. If Down screening results are high risk, further noninvasive fiber or amniotic fluid puncture tests are needed to confirm the diagnosis. If the fetus has significant abnormalities, termination of pregnancy is required.
