The pituitary gland is an endocrine gland, including the adenohypophysis and neurohypophysis. The adenohypophysis produces and stores a variety of hormones that regulate sexual function and also affect other secretory gland activities. Neurohypophysis secretes hypothalamic-neurohypophysis hormones, oxytocin, and vasopressin.
