Does sternum fracture have sequela

Committed to your health journey.
Under normal circumstances, if the patient had a simple sternum fracture and actively cooperated with the treatment, there would be no sequelae. However, if the patient had a sternum fracture combined with other injuries, such as respiratory tract, chest, blood vessels, or spinal column injuries, there would be sequelae. For example, respiratory and circulatory dysfunction would appear, and even serious life would be affected. If the patient is accompanied by spinal cord injury, he may show incontinence and bilateral lower limb paralysis. This is the sequela of sternum fracture combined with other injuries. What can be done normally is to confirm other diagnoses at the same time of chest fracture, and actively carry out symptomatic treatment to minimize the occurrence of sequela.
