Tuckahoe Difference

Tuckahoe and Smilax glabra differ in shape, efficacy and treatment of different diseases.

1. Different in shape

Tuckahoe is a fungus, the appearance is block or round, the surface is brown, the inside is white or slightly yellow. Tuckahoe is mostly small blocks, with fine pores. Smilax glabra is a tuber of plants, the appearance is similar to Tuckahoe, but the volume is larger, the surface is thick.

2. Different in efficacy Tuckahoe

has the effect of diuresis, invigorating spleen and stomach, calming the mind. Smilax glabra has the effect of invigorating spleen and qi, relieving swelling and pain.

3. Different in treatment of diseases Tuckahoe is

often used to treat edema caused by moisture stagnation, loss of appetite, weakness of spleen and stomach, palpitations, insomnia and other diseases. Smilax glabra is often used to treat diarrhea, night sweat, chronic cough and other conditions.
